About Us

Starting of the Valo Kajer Hotel

We have been trying to simultaneously commit good deeds and thus inspire others to do so since 2009. At that time, we could manage food for rootless and helpless people only during festivals and special days of the year. From 2011 we spent every Eid with rootless, helpless, poor people and street children. We had been cooking meals for 200-250 people on a weekly basis since 2019. On March 26, 2020, during the pandemic, we started our ‘Everyday Meal’ program. This is how our Valo Kajer Hotel started its journey.

Description of the Valo Kajer Hotel

Like other usual hotels, there is no chair, table, bell, or even roof above the head in this hotel. Our guests have their meal sitting on the footpath under the open sky without any hesitation. Our guests are street children, rootless, helpless, and hungry people who come, have their seats, and have food, just informing us of their good deeds.

Food Distribution Procedure

Our guests take their seats, keeping a safe distance while eating. Batch wise, 50 people sit at a time, and others wait for the next batch until the previous batch has finished taking the food. Gradually, all of them take their food. But, before this, our volunteers ask them what good deed they have committed on that day. If anybody doesn’t inform any good deed that day, we do not refuse to give him/her food; rather, we request that they do a good deed the next day.

Our Funding

We currently have several members. we call them "Daily Ten Member". Each of our members has a reusable steel bank, where we deposit 10 taka daily. After 30 days we collect all that subscription from the members. We have been doing these good deeds since 2009, so some good-hearted people have been involved in our activities at various times as well-wishers. Valo Kajer Hotel is running with the subscription of our 'Daily Ten Member' and donations from well-wishers'.
